When was the last time you had Fun?

Check out these women having a lot of fun on the beach.

When was the last time YOU had this much fun?

If you can't quite remember, then you need to start prioritising pleasure.

This is often one of the first things I tell clients when I start working with them.

They're so focused on showing up for their business, their company, their loved ones, that they're completely out of touch with their joy. They forget to fill up their own cup.

If it's the same for you, know that you do not need to throw a beach party and get drunk (check out the bottom right of the picture - I count at least three bottles including some Dutch gin!) to fill that cup.

It starts with allowing yourself time for simple sensory pleasures.

Pausing to enjoy the feeling of the sun on your face.

To savour your afternoon tea.

To stroke your favourite fabric.

This is often called 'mindfulness' but I'd rather call it 'body-fulness'.

Filling your cup with tiny bursts of sensory joy immediately changes your energy.

It's so simple, so easy and so effective.

It's freely accessible and can't be optimised or monetized (which is probably why we tend to forget about it).

Today (and tomorrow, and all the tomorrows after) go touch a tree, drink in colour, smell some citrus, or sink deliciously into your sofa.

Give yourself those small moments of body-fulness, of pleasure, each day - and you will be rich beyond measure.
