Do you even notice how you feel throughout the day?

Hey smart human,

As I finished up my mini-course on emotional agility this week (you’ll find it here, including a link to download the workbook), I realised how many of us - including yours truly - lack emotional awareness.

We’re so busy DOING that we don’t even register the way we feel.

I work with a lot of smart humans who are out of touch with their true wants, needs and desires, and I think that at the root of that is years of rushing over, by, and past emotions.

We look for smarter ways to work, to 10X, to do everything better and faster.

We try to hack the way we exercise, love, learn.

We even optimise for sleep.

But what about our emotions?

They co-create our lived experience.

They shape our future.

And they even colour our memories.

You may know how to growth hack, how to win at whatever game it is you’re playing.

But do you know how you feel on an average day?

What emotions accompany you through your time on this planet?

If the answer is no, then here’s what I want you to do.

This week, pause every couple of hours to take stock of what you’re feeling (there’s a worksheet in the workbook to help you structure this).

Note the context (who/where/what/when/etc.) - and the emotion.

Do the same when your emotions become so intense you can’t help but notice them (hello intense anger, anxiety, dread).

After a couple of days you’ll start to notice some patterns.

Categories of people/places/things that infuriate you - or delight you.

The situations that trigger your anxiety.

The tiny things that fill you up with joy.

Track your emotions - and then, after a week, decide.

Is this how you want to feel about these things?

If not - it’s time to get to work.

I explain how in the mini-course on emotional agility

Emotions are an incredibly powerful transformational tool - it’s well worth becoming more fluent in them.

Even if you’re not going after specific goals, do it for one of the best strategic byproducts on the planet:

Presence.

Have a beautiful week,

Else a.k.a. Coach Kramer
