Where are you rejecting yourself ahead of time?
This tweet by Sahil Lavingia stopped me in my tracks.
It was shared by The Female Lead on LinkedIn this week - it struck a chord with thousands of people, and I'm not surprised.
Because we're ALL self-rejecting in some way or other.
Keeping ourselves small.
I love the concept of self-rejection.
It's such a brilliant way to reframe the heady mixture of perfectionism, fear of failure and indecision that we experience whenever we want to do something out of our comfort zone.
We 'self-reject' to avoid failure.
Instead, we fail ahead of time by not even trying.
'Don't self-reject' is the best advice ever - but we need to start realising when we're doing it first.
So I've been asking myself where I self-reject over the past days - and I can definitely find areas where I do.
Not posting new videos on Linkedin.
Not reaching out to tech companies to tell them I can help their smart employees work better.
Not scheduling new webinars.
How about you?
Where are you self-rejecting?
Think about it over the coming days - and then go do those things.
Send, post, publish, apply, reach out anyways.
If you would like some help with that last part: check out this week's episode of the Managing the Smart Mind Podcast: "Why You Aren't Taking Action On Your Decisions". You can find it on your favourite podcast app, or via this link.
Have a wonderful weekend,
